The appellation of Corton-Charlemagne produces the great white wines of the area around the top of the hill from Ladoix-Serrigny to Pernand-Vergelesses. Some Pinot Blanc grapes do remain but the majority of vines are Chardonnay.
Other Reviews: Surprisingly for a Giroud wine, this is generously oaked featuring ripe citrus and green apple notes that run to rich, full and impressively concentrated fullbodied flavors yet the finish retains a fine sense of precision on the mouth coating backend. Still, the wood is borderline intrusive at present and its difficult to predict whether the solid density will successfully integrate it or not Burghound
