This is a blend of 85% cabernet sauvignon, 9% petite verdot, and 6% merlot. 401 cases were produced. A rich black cherry aroma accented by layers of blueberry, anise, pepper, and black tea. The French oak seasons the wine with notes of vanilla, caramel and spicy butterscotch. There are intense layers of dark red fruit that open with the wine. The palate is seductively weighty with a velvety tannin structure. Flavors of blackberry, cherry, clove, and anise accompany the nose, while lingering raspberry and blackberry tea intensify the seduction. There is a lengthy finish, complemented by notes of fine vanilla and lingering fruit.
