Dark ruby with a blackish core. Expressive aromas of dried red berries, anise, smoky herbs and flowers. Well-structured, surprisingly concentrated bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors are framed and lifted by zesty acidity. Finishes with a discreet sweet persistence, lingering herbal nuances and a hint of oak. Owing to low yields from the estates oldest vines, this cabernet franc has more depth than Les Picasses but not quite the same personality. I'd also resist opening this bottle for another couple of years. -Joel B. Payne, Vinous
