An Evening With Tenuta San Guido
Wally’s was honored to host Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta, co-owner of Tenuta San Guido, one of the top wine houses in the world and the producer of the world-famous Sassicaia wines. Guests were treated to a spectacular evening of tastings and special pours, paired with a menu designed by Wally’s Executive Chef Ryan Kluver.
The star of the tasting was the newly released 2019 Sassicaia, which was rated 99 points by Wine Enthusiast, and 100 points by Decanter, calling it “extremely graceful and intense with a lavender note enhanced by restrained bramble fruits, fermented citrus peel, an intense violet aroma and graphite minerality in depth… A perfectly woven structure is bound with signature freshness and fruit vibrancy, making this one for the long haul.”
In addition to this exciting wine, Tenuta San Guido shared three additional new releases for a total of four tastings:

- 2020 Guidalberto
- 2020 Le Difese
- 2019 Le Difese
After the tasting, Wally’s dinner guests had a chance to experience a seated multi-course meal featuring a vertical selection of Sassicaia vintages paired with a custom menu.
1st Course: Foie Gras Torchon, wood oven roasted peach, black berry, country bread, paired with:
- 2019 Le Difese
- 2020 Guidalberto
2nd Course: Wild Ramp Tortellini, guinea hen ragu, chanterelle mushrooms, paired with:
- 2018 Sassicaia
- 2008 Sassicaia
3rd Course: American Wagyu, grilled summer vegetable terrine, glazed cherry tomato, olive jus, paired with:
- 2006 Sassicaia
- 2004 Sassicaia
Cheese Course: Moliterno Truffle Pecorino, preserved cherries, truffle laminated lavash, paired with:
- 2001 Sassicaia
